JULIAAN LAMPENS, Custom-Designed Storage Box in Oak

Out of stock

Rolling into the spotlight from the same home as our shelving unit, this storage box was designed by Belgian brutalist architect Juliaan Lampens in the 1980s for his local baker in Eke. Crafted from a mix of solid oak and plywood, its clean lines and warm tone give it a quiet presence. Mounted on discreet wheels, it's as easy to move as it is to admire, whether holding books, vinyl, or your most treasured design pieces.

Well-kept, with a few scratches and dings for the perfect patina. A rare chance to add an original Juliaan Lampens piece to your collection.

About Juliaan Lampens

Juliaan Lampens (1926–2019) was a Belgian architect associated with post-war Brutalism, known for his uncompromising use of exposed concrete. Following Expo 58, he developed a radical approach to living, based on open plans and a reduction of the house to its essential elements.

His buildings, including the Van Wassenhove House in Deurle and the chapel of Kerselare, are conceived as continuous spaces where structure, light, and material define the interior. Furniture was often designed as part of the architecture, resulting in rare pieces that follow the same direct use of material and construction.
