Pair of modernist lounge chairs, Italy, 1950s. Though the designer remains unidentified, the chairs show the softer and more sculptural side of Italian post-war design, with gently curved lines and a low, generous form.
The chairs have black lacquered frames with subtle brass details on the feet, and are newly upholstered in luxurious moss green velvet. The frames show a beautiful patina, with the wood in lovely condition and only light, carefully integrated restorations. In very good condition, a well-preserved example of Italian mid-century seating.
