About Pol Spilliaert

Pol Spilliaert (1935–2023) was a Belgian sculptor known for his abstract work in marble and bronze. He studied at La Cambre in Brussels under Léon Stynen and later taught for many years at Sint-Lukas in Ghent.

His sculptures are built from simplified forms, often combining organic and geometric elements. Through this, he explored balance, tension, and the relationship between volume and space. His work can be found in public collections including the Middelheim Museum in Antwerp.
