GUY VANDENBRANDEN, Abstract Geometric Oil on Canvas

Colorful abstract-geometric painting by Belgian artist Guy Vandenbranden, shaped entirely by visual elements: lines, planes and colors. Despite its chromatic complexity, the piece adheres to strict geometric lines. Spatial depth is achieved through the intersection of brightly colored planes, while the incorporation of bold black lines adds emotional tension to the composition.

Acryl on canvas, signed at the back. Work in mint condition.

About Guy Vandenbranden

Guy Vandenbranden (1926–2014) was a Belgian abstract artist whose work evolved from lyrical abstraction towards a colorful geometric language. From the late 1950s onwards, he developed compositions defined by sharp forms and strong color contrasts, positioning him within the international Hard Edge movement.

This colorful geometric period forms the core of his work, where rhythm, repetition, and balance create a clear visual structure. His practice is closely connected to that of contemporaries such as Jo Delahaut and Jef Verheyen, reflecting a shared ambition to position Belgian abstraction on an international stage.
