About Michel Martens
Michel Martens (1921–2006) was a Belgian glass artist known for his work in stained glass, often integrated into modernist architectural projects. He collaborated closely with architect Paul Felix and artist Roger Bonduel, contributing to a renewed approach to church architecture in Belgium during the 1950s.
He contributed to Expo 58 and worked directly with light and color through glass, using structure and material to define the space. From the 1970s onwards, he developed a series of mirror objects, exploring reflection and surface in a more autonomous way.
