About Yves Rhayé

Yves Rhayé (1936–1995) was a Belgian artist known for his sculptural work that blends human, animal, and plant forms into hybrid, often otherworldly figures. His pieces move between figuration and abstraction, with a strong focus on form and surface.

Trained at the Ghent Academy and later active at the Perignem workshop, he developed a distinctive language in ceramics and bronze, often finished with dark or gold-toned glazes. His work is defined by these biomorphic shapes and a tactile, almost organic presence.
