Christophe Gevers, GE101 White Table Lamp for Light

GE 101 table lamp by Belgian interior architect Christophe Gevers for Light, Belgium, 1970s. The model reflects Gevers' idea that lighting should participate in the architecture of a room, a principle he developed across interiors for restaurants, banks and private residences.

Executed in lacquered metal with a bent tubular support and cylindrical diffuser. This example is untouched, original and in very good authentic condition, with a soft patina consistent with age. No longer in production and increasingly hard to find, its modest construction gives the GE 101 the quiet authority typical of Gevers' modernist lighting designs.

About Christophe Gevers

Christophe Gevers (1928–2007) was a Belgian interior architect and designer known for his total approach to space, where architecture, furniture, and detail form a coherent whole. His work spans interiors, office systems, and lighting, with key projects such as the Cap d'Argent (1958) and the 300 series for Asko.

Trained in both technical crafts and design, Gevers developed a precise and material-driven language, shaped by his early experience at De Coene and his long tenure as head of the Furniture and Layout workshop at La Cambre. His work is defined by functionality, tactile materials, and an exceptional attention to detail.
