Willy Van Der Meeren, Blue Two-Tone Kitchen Cabinet for Tubax

Blue two-tone kitchen cabinet designed by Belgian architect Willy Van Der Meeren and produced by Tubax, Belgium, mid-1950s. Developed within Van Der Meeren's socially driven modernism, the cabinet reflects his interest in affordable, standardised furniture with structural clarity and controlled use of colour.

The composition combines lacquered blue surfaces with sliding doors, two drawers and solid teak handles, a recurring detail in his Tubax furniture. In good original condition, it is a rare example of Van Der Meeren's post-war approach to industrially produced furniture.
