Maarten Van Severen, LL04 Leather Lounge Chair Prototype

Out of stock

This pre-production or prototype lounge chair designed by Maarten Van Severen, originally belonged to the former CEO of Pastoe, who was collaborating with design legends like Shiro Kuramata, Shigeru Uchida and Aldo van den Nieuwelaar. Handcrafted with cognac saddle leather on a hand-welded frame, it's got beautiful design touches like a single armrest-table and detailed stitching. Van Severen designed it to age like fine wine, where every scratch and mark adds personality.

It's in stunning condition, with a patina that makes it even more charming. A true statement piece with a story to tell!

About Maarten Van Severen

Maarten Van Severen (1956–2005) was a Belgian designer and interior architect, known for his radical clarity of form and material. Working initially by hand, he developed furniture that balances archetypal simplicity with an exceptional level of precision.

His approach placed strong emphasis on the tactile and natural qualities of materials, often left untreated to reveal their origin and to evolve through use. Van Severen's work reflects a belief that objects gain meaning over time, shaped by the traces of everyday life.
